Half-Time Director of Individual and Corporate Fundraising

Join a great team of dedicated staff and Board Members in transforming the lives of children in our community through expressive art! We are looking for someone with great contacts in the community who can strengthen and broaden our individual and corporate donor bases. This position would be ideal for someone who is very efficient in their work, who has strong community contacts, and who also desires flexibility. This is a contract position. Salary DOE – and ability.

The Director of Individual and Corporate Fundraising will be responsible for developing and implementing the development strategy for Drawbridge. Working with the Board and the Executive Director, the Director of Individual and Corporate Fundraising will be responsible for achieving Drawbridge’s fundraising goals and engaging sponsors in programs. This includes leveraging key relationships and contacts within and outside of DrawBridge to ensure meeting the program revenue goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Review historical data and current plan to evaluate the current giving program, and develop new strategic and operational Fund Development Plan.
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with current individual donors and potential corporate & foundation sponsors
  • Develop and grow individual, corporate and foundation donor base
  • Lead and manage DrawBridge’s overall development efforts to raise an annual budget of $200K plus.
  • Help develop Board fundraising capacity, including working with board members to acquire and cultivate leads

Key Responsibilities:

In order to achieve the preceding outcomes, you will:

  • Create and execute a comprehensive annual development plan with specific, quantifiable goals across a diversity of revenue streams
  • Identify and cultivate new potential individual, major donor, foundation, and corporate supporters
  • Create partnerships in the business community to strengthen DrawBridge’s fundraising base and visibility in the Bay Area
  • Assist in grant writing and follow-up on corporate and foundation grants
  • Identify and cultivate new potential individual, major donor, foundation, and corporate supporters
  • Supervise and support DrawBridge’s overall development work alongside the Board including helping to develop board strategies and communications, and identifying prospects
  • Equip and mobilize the Board of Directors to play an integral role in fundraising, including regular and direct work with various committees
  • Work closely with the Executive Director to further her role and execution with the overall fundraising strategies

Qualifications:

  • At least five years of relevant experience in nonprofit fundraising, including quantifiable success with a variety of revenue streams
  • Experience building and executing strategies that identify and cultivate gifts from high net-worth individuals, corporations and major foundations; ideally having secured five- and six-figure gifts; good contacts in the Bay Area fundraising community
  • Excellent communication skills and an adaptable approach with a diverse set of stakeholders
  • Proactive, creative problem-solving skills with an ability to be both strategic and tactical when implementing solutions
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently and to roll up their sleeves as needed; bringing positive energy and a fun, flexible, and collaborative spirit
  • Passionate about DrawBridge’s mission and is able to share a compelling connection to this work
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required, master’s degree preferred
