Volunteer Program
At DrawBridge we strive to provide the children we serve with caring, confident, and committed people. Working with an extremely needy population can be challenging, both emotionally and intellectually. We offer training and support to all of our volunteers and facilitators, allowing them to explore the issues that arise as a result of working with homeless and vulnerable children.
Volunteering:
Our art groups rely on the support of our generous volunteers. We could never accomplish all that we do without the commitment and devotion of this special group of people! Our volunteers provide help with group set-up and clean-up, they give children lots of individual attention, and help create a safe, playful, and nurturing place for children to express themselves.
About the Program:
We ask that you be at least 18 years old and that you have some experience working with children.
We ask that volunteers commit to 6 months of service. This provides a much needed sense of consistency for the children we work with.
We have many positions available in the 7 counties we serve. Availability depends on your schedule and location, as well as the needs of our groups.
Most of our weekly groups occur for 2 hours on weekday evenings.

If you have more questions about becoming a DrawBridge Volunteer, please contact our office at 415-444-0930 or email us.
Volunteer Training:
If you are interested in joining our program, the first step is to complete our Online Volunteer Training. Please use the link below to enter our training section.

Our organization is run largely by volunteer labor, so we have very limited administrative support. This website and online training were created as a resource to answer your questions. After reading through all of the materials offered on this site, if you have additional questions, please leave a message at 415-444-0930 or email us to talk to a real person.

Fingerprinting/TB Testing:
Once you have talked with our representative, you will also be required to do a LiveScan fingerprinting, as well as provide proof of a TB test within the last 4 years. This is required by the state of California in order to work with children. Please send your results to the facilitator of the group you have been placed at.
Also, please note that if you have already been fingerprinted for another organization, unfortunately we are not allowed to review this information since it's confidential, so you will need to complete a LiveScan specifically for DrawBridge.
LiveScan Instructions: Download this form
LiveScan Interactive Form: Download this form
LiveScan Locations: A complete list of authorized CA fingerprinting service locations
Lowcost LiveScan Locations: A list of recommended locations
TB Testing: A TB test can be done at any doctor’s office or clinic. Complete your test and send a copy of the results or, if you have completed one in the last 4 years, please photocopy those results for DrawBridge.
