Our Children Helping Children program takes groups of homeless children to visit children who have cancer and terminal illness. Homeless children, who often think of themselves as having nothing, find themselves offering the rich gift of their presence and love to children who are isolated from society for other reasons.
"It is so empowering for children who have no home and very few possessions to discover that they have so much to give to others. This part of our program has, in some ways, been the richest," says Executive Director Gloria Simoneaux.
"Both homeless and sick children have a great need to release their darker feelings. That is what DrawBridge is all about."
