These readings are part of Silverberry's charitable fundraising book tour. He will donate a portion of author profit to DrawBridge.
Windano's Cloak, a fantasy adverture about a girl who must save her family from a danger horrible enough to shatter their world forever will appeal to children age ten and up, and adults who cherish fairy tales.
Donated Ivar Backpacks
Donated Ivar Backpacks have been given to many of the kids in our program. The children have been decorating them with fabric paint glitter glue and beaded zipper pulls.
Brownie Troupe 32889 from Fremont had a great time shopping for school supplies to fill 50 of the backpacks. These will be extra special backpacks for the kids.

DrawBridge bats a homerun on the Giants Jumbotron!
DrawBridge went to a Giants/Padres game in early May. We handed out fliers in the Community Clubhouse, played our DVD and displayed children's art. DrawBridge was also featured on the Jumbotron!

California Artists Month at Terrestra galleries features noted Bay Area designers in events benefitting Drawbridge arts programs for homeless children
You are cordially invited to an art-filled afternoon of eating, drinking, and schmoozing not to mention shopping and doing a world of good.
Terrestra is pleased to announce California Artists Month in San Francisco and Berkeley locations. All month May 2010, Terrestra stores will be celebrating talented local designers and artisans. The company will be donating a percentage of event sales to benefit DrawBridge, a nonprofit organization that provides art therapy and education to Bay Area homeless children.
In-store events will include weekly “meet the artist” days in the San Francisco Laurel Village store throughout the month of May. These events will feature expanded displays of the artists’ work as well as complimentary refreshments and raffles with special prizes from local artists and arts organizations.
Bay Area artists scheduled for in-store receptions include:

Taste for Artisans pays tribute to Americana but with a modern, urban twist. Come celebrate local craftsmanship with over 100 of the Bay Area's best artisans selling their handmade wares, farmers filling our plates, live local bands/djs, and other educational activities from the De Young Museum. Meet local artisans, musicians, and farmers while at the same time supporting Drawbridge!
Bring in unused/new art supplies for Draw Bridge and receive free raffle tickets!

On behalf of the facilitators and volunteers of DrawBridge: An Arts Program for Homeless Children, you are cordially invited to a Winter Arts Festival & Fundraiser on December 17, 2009, at 8pm.

Admission: $10, or $5 with an (unused) art supply
The festival will take place at SUB-Mission gallery in San Francisco, and will include a lively evening of art-making, music and camaraderie, culminating in a silent auction.
All proceeds from the event will go to support our direct work with the children, allowing our program to remain active and thriving into the coming year.
We hope that you will join us in celebration of artistic expression as we invest in the emotional well-being of the homeless children in our community.
