The Gift of Volunteering
DrawBridge has been the lucky recipient of a rare gift: the hard work and big heart of a truly dedicated volunteer. Kathleen Keating. Kathleen recently made the decision to step down from her role on the DrawBridge Board of Directors. The impact and contributions she made on the Board these past eight years will ripple outward for years to come.
Kathleen began as a volunteer in 2006, and then became a Facilitator in one of the weekly Marin art groups, which she has run for eight years (and continues to do so). She also joined the Board in 2010, bringing her expertise and perspective as both a Facilitator and a branding authority. Her accomplishments are many and include: oversight of the organization’s website revamp; training of new staff members; participation in the creation of the Strategic Plan; rebranding efforts, and contributions to fundraising, annual planning and volunteer stewardship. She has given up to 900 volunteer hours a year, and has helped keep the organization on an even keel, with constant forward momentum.
According to Board President Steve Wasserman, every time Drawbridge needed her to step up, she did. “During Drawbridge’s most trying times, Kathleen was a voice for the children. Her wisdom, compassion and consistent hard work have been an integral part of the foundation of Drawbridge’s stability and its future.”
She is also a lot of fun! In both her group facilitating and her Board work, Kathleen brings a positive spirit and wealth of creativity and passion. This, also, will be her legacy.
We are so glad to have Kathleen continue her involvement with DrawBridge as a Facilitator, and are eternally grateful for her contributions and gifts.
The gifts of time and caring are immeasurably valuable to organizations such as DrawBridge, which rely on contributions of all kinds to maintain smooth operations and service to the community.
