Help Kids Reconnect Through Art

“Art is an important part of self-development and empowerment for children. Art can be a tool for survival.”  – Salifu M., former DrawBridge Artist in Residence

I am so honored and excited to join this remarkable organization as executive director at this important moment in history. I look forward to meeting you, our dedicated supporters, as well as the countless volunteers, partners, and creative children that make up the DrawBridge community.

This pandemic year has illuminated the systemic inequality impacting families who are underserved or experiencing homelessness. DrawBridge kids have endured disproportionate hardships during lockdown, and the true effect on their social and emotional well-being remains unknown. At a time when issues of race, health care, and immigration are at the center of passionate discourse, our facilitators continue to show up for them every week.

As our world begins to reopen, DrawBridge services are more in-demand than ever.

Through the coming months, we will safely return to hosting free in-person art groups in the shelters, affordable housing sites and community centers we’ve served for more than 30 years. Our frontline facilitators and volunteers will be equipped with everything they need to follow national, state, and each site’s safety protocols. In addition to investments in personal protective equipment, staff training, and a substantial replenishment of art materials like paper, clay, pens and paints, DrawBridge will supply the resources required to widen outreach and expand services to new sites as demand for our program continues to increase.

Invest in DrawBridge during this Springtime of renewal and growth.

Your generous support is needed right now to ensure we can meet the demand for expansion and successfully scale our arts programming. With well-managed operating expenses and hundreds of volunteer hours, DrawBridge allocates more of your donation directly to programs that benefit the most children.

Join us in inspiring the bright underserved kids who are directing their innate creative talents in healthy, productive, and even revolutionary new ways that benefit us all.

Thank you for your continued support.

With gratitude,

Tracy Bays-Boothe
Executive Director
